Street Invaders is a summer youth missions program for students ages 13-18, designed to help them put their faith into action. Though the program had ran for over 30 years, it had always struggled to attract attention through its yearly marketing campaigns and needed something fresh to keep things moving.
After sitting down with the ministry, we learned that the desire to travel across Canada (and internationally) was a main draw for students. Naturally, we used that to our advantage and designed a series of posters highlighting the natural beauty and diversity of the vast Canadian landscape, invoking a sense of adventure all students could appreciate.
Inspired by the beautiful existing vintage travel posters of yesteryear, we decided we’d try our hand at the style. The designs were a resounding success, leading to increased engagement in the program.
With the popularity of the designs, the campaign was repeated for four consecutive years. The posters quickly became collector’s items for youth in the ministry, with many of them trading the designs amongst each other.
